MAMAILA – The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has directed the police to use all resources to track and trace the suspect who allegedly attacked and ra_ped students in the campus before fleeing the scene with some of their valuables. This incident took place on Saturday, 22 February 2025 at about 23h10,
The Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Stephen Thakeng says the students were asleep at a college residence in Bolobedu, Mopani District when a 20 year old girl went outside to fetch water. Suddenly she screamed for help .
Then a 21 year old complainant saw an unknown African male wearing a black balaclava, black jersey, blue jeans, black gloves, white sneakers and pointed them with a firearm. The eight female students were instructed to undress and four of them aged 20 and 21 years old were selected and raped.
After the rape ordeal, a Samsung A04 cellphone and Nokia C10 were robbed. Then the suspect left the scene on foot. A case of Business robbery and four counts of rape were registered for further investigation.
